The Great Apes
One of my truly personal favorite travel goals has been to observe all five of “The Great Apes” in their natural habitat. The second you lock eyes with one is a truly amazing experience, you get the real feeling that they really see you and are trying to connect to you, much more even than the cuddliest dog you know. Until now, I’ve fortunately been able to see 4 out of 5, with the Bonobo being the last remaining one on my list, likely to remain that way for a while due to the safety concerns in the Congo…

Orangutan
Motherly love that is all too familiar…
Their orange fur makes them much easier to spot and photograph vs. their cousins!
